Buckeyes burned

So explain this one to me: Ohio State is No. 1 and loses to the mighty Illini, and the folks at the BCS drop them to No. 7?

Meanwhile, LSU loses to Kentucky and only falls one spot. West Virginia loses a game and hardly a week goes by that they don't push the Mountaineers up to No. 3.

As Lou Holtz said during the Kent State vs. Akron game: HAVE A PLAYOFF!

Ohio State should be playing in the title game again, perhaps against WVU or maybe Missouri.

But that won't happen. The Bucks are heading to the Rose where they'll play USC. And even if it is a blowout, it won't matter. Why? Because the BCS powers already decided who's going where after Black Friday.

It's a ripoff. The BCS is a sham. The AP Poll is nuts. And the Buckeyes, who probably are the best team in the nation, won't get a shot.

I've said it before and I'll say it again. HAVE A PLAYOFF!
