Tis the season

We have to laugh once again at this time of year - after all the college bowl season is nearly upon us.

What's so funny? Crowning a Division I champ by vote. You simply can't do that. In no other sport does this occur but the money behind the bowl system is so powerful, there's likely little that can be done to stop it.

We all know we need a playoff system in place to find the real champion in college football. The other divisions are well-aware of this, too. But since that's not going to happen, sit back and enjoy the farce.

This year's will be a doozy.
